DEKALB COUNTY: 2 weekend killings under investigation
DeKalb police are investigating two weekend deaths: one by stabbing, one by shooting.
Police said Demetrius Johnson, 33, was stabbed to death early Saturday after an argument at a party on Evans Mill Road in southeast DeKalb. Brian Dukes, 24, who was found at his parents' home a short time later, was charged with murder, said police spokesman Jason Gagnon.
Joyce Morton was found shot to death early Saturday at a home construction site on White Oak Drive, south of Memorial Drive, police said.
She is believed to be in her late 20s. A witness told police he saw a man and woman walking in the area, Gagnon said
Woman's remains found in Dumpster
A worker taking out trash discovered the remains of a woman in a Dumpster on Monday morning.
The remains were found behind the Family Medical Center on Candler Road in south DeKalb about 9 a.m., said DeKalb police spokesman Jason Gagnon.
It was not immediately known how long the woman had been dead or how she died.
The remains and the entire Dumpster were taken to the DeKalb medical examiner's office, Gagnon said.
